Hwan. NY has two meanings behind its name.

First of all, it means "Circle and round" in East Asian character

When building ceramic by hands, wheel is the most important tool that creates the smooth round shape and surface of the pottery. Coiling, which is also a method to create ceramics, works in circular motion to build the shape.

Hwan is the process of giving birth to a new creation.

Hwan is a will to create ceramics that reflect the novelty and innovations which has been shaping New York to Now of New York from the ground, by the people from all over the world.

Secondly, Hwan means ‘shine’ which originally from the artiest Eoo Su Hwan Kim’s name. Another ‘Hwan’ in Chinese character contains Meaning of kindle, light and shine.
